OVERLOOK APARTMENTS-PARKING GARAGE: GROUND LEVEL: MIDDAY, SUMMER
we see someone come out of the corner of the garage. He is handsome ,nerdy and in his early forties,
broad chested, but still rough around the edges. This is Daniel. He walks out of the dark, not really looking where he is going, he’s reading a book. We see a man approaching from the street, he’s young, fresh and attractive, obviously a co-ed by his Georgia State T-Shirt and shorts His name is Tony. He’s carrying bags of groceries. The two are headed straight for each other, each unaware of the other. They collide. Fruit goes rolling, the book is launched into the air, other foodstuff is spilled, there isslight chaos, and I’m sorrys. The conversation happens as they collect the groceries and return them to the bag
Daniel: I am so sorry
Tony: No I am, I wasn’t looking where I was going, I do that all the time. God If my Mother could see us.
Daniel: No really, it was my fault.
Tony: Please I almost knocked you over...
Daniel: I was reading while walking, you know you shouldnt do two things at once.
Tony:Talking and Chewing Gum
Daniel: What?
Tony: Talking and Chewing Gum I was trying to be funny... Anthony Clements 2F. You must be Daniel Field, you own this place right? ..
Daniel: Yes , I own the building. You just moved in, Junior at Georgia State. I have
no idea what you’re studying, but I do know your mother is very loud and intends to bring you food. She must live close.
Tony: Roswell, Yah. So do you know this much about everyone else in the building.
Daniel: The people from Terminus just like to keep me in the loop of who’s is my building. Nothing personal.
Tony: Oh. Well I’m a Biology major, I want to be a Nurse.
Daniel: That’s nice.
the groceries have all found their rightful place, and Daniel has his book.
Tony: Well if you ever want to hang out, you know where I live.
DANIEL
Tony: Or not, Im sorry I have terrible gay-dar. Anyway. It was nice to meet you
Daniel: Nice to meet you as well.
the two head off in their respective directions but just as Tony reaches the door he turns around.
Tony: Hey Dan!
Daniel: Daniel
Tony: Daniel. I hear random voices yelling at night. Maybe the walls are thin or whatever. But they are coming from above me. Could you tell the people in 3F to quiet down at night.
Daniel has a lot of sweat on his brow and seems shook by Tony’s words,
Daniel: Sure thing man.
Tony: Thanks
Tony walks into the building and Daniel remains at the edge of the parking garage, he walks into the sun, contemplating something. A Breeze comes along and carries his book out of his hand, he scurries after. End of Scene.
