TILT pt 2

Gavin looked upon his collection of china dolls. Their empty eyes filled him with a feeling of complete  admiration. Frozen. Admiration because he had saved them from being destroyed, saved them from being forgotten. He felt the same admiration to them. In a way he felt that they saved him. Gavin kept a collection of 2 hundred dolls in his inner den, so that they wouldn't be stained by the daylight that poured in from the bay windows at the front of his apartment. To him they were the best partners in life, they would never judge him, or leave him and gave back all the love that he showered on them. Yes Gavin loves his dolls. So much so that he would forgo groceries to buy his babies new clothes, just so you get a clear picture of the man we're looking at. Gavin works as a clerk at the local bank and finds his work enjoyable to say the least. Actually what he adores the most is when a client sheds hair in front of him. Of course this is a rarity, but it does happen. So when a young woman whips her hair around and a few strands fall on his counter, he quickly scoops them up and places them in his pocket. When he returns home he adds it to one of his precious doll's heads,  depending on the shade of the hair. Today we see Gavin at his counter waiting for the last client to leave the building as it was already after 5 o clock. She walks up and asks to make a deposit. She has long flowing blond hair. Gavin's legs tighten as she leans over to write on the deposit slip. He watches as several strands are left as she returns up-right. "Will that complete your business with us today mam?" Gavin stutters Woman: Yea, thanks. Gavin: Thank you, Come see us again. He gathered the strands quickly as the security guard locked the door behind her and prepared to close down his counter. On his way home Gavin found himself humming and tapping his toe in anticipation of garnishing his dolls with his new found hair. As he came into his neighborhood he noticed a large plume of smoke coming from his street. A stone dropped into his stomach as he turned down his street to find fire engines in front of his house fighting a blaze. His ears began to ring and pulse. Gavin spilled out of his car for his knees were weak, and he then lost all sense in the world and tore for the front door of the house. They tried to stop him, but he broke the firemen's grip. He ran into the house and down the hall to his shrine which was a mass of rubber and glass faces.  He threw his body over the closest doll to put out the flame. But there was no hope. They were gone So Gavin  ran deeper into the house and sat down on the ground. The ceiling fell in on him and his body was found after the fire was put out. The body was found clutching the facade of a young girl.  This went to show that a man would do anything for his dolls and risk his own life for the sake of one China face. So it goes.
